§ 01GeneralWhat custom software is

Choosing a partner

How do I choose a software development company?

Look at the track record first: a portfolio of comparable work, client references you can actually call, and a team skilled in the technologies your project needs. Then check how they run projects — how scope is agreed, how often you see working software, and what happens after launch. Ask what the full range of services covers:

  • Web and mobile app development
  • Software architecture
  • IT consulting and audit
  • Legacy system modernization
  • Cloud computing
  • QA and testing
  • Business analysis
  • IT staffing services
What is a custom software development company?

A firm that designs and builds software specifically for one client, rather than selling the same licensed product to everyone. The work covers requirements, architecture, build, testing, deployment and ongoing support — and the resulting system, and its source code, belong to you.

Why do businesses need custom software?

Off-the-shelf tools force your process to match the product. Custom software does the opposite: it fits the way your team already works, connects to the systems you already run, and removes the manual steps and spreadsheets that quietly cost hours every week.

Why is custom software development important?

Because the process is usually the competitive advantage, and generic software flattens it. A system built around how you actually operate keeps that advantage and gives you something no competitor can buy off a shelf.

§ 02EngagementHow work is agreed

Scope, cost and contracts

How much does custom software development cost?

Cost depends on scope, integrations, compliance requirements and how much of the work sits with your team. We quote after discovery, in writing, broken down by milestone — so you can approve, reduce or defer parts of the scope before committing. Small projects can start with a single paid discovery phase.

What does a paid discovery phase produce?

A written scope, an architecture outline, a milestone plan and prices per milestone. It is yours to keep whether or not you continue with us, and it is deliberately detailed enough to put out to other suppliers.

What engagement models do you offer?

Three. Fixed scope for defined builds with a firm deadline, a dedicated team for continuous product development on a monthly basis, and staff augmentation where named engineers join your existing team and follow your process.

What happens if the scope changes mid-project?

We price the change before doing the work, and you decide whether it goes in now, later or not at all. Nothing gets built and invoiced on the assumption you would have wanted it.

§ 03DeliveryHow work is run

Delivery and quality

How do you keep a project on schedule?

Milestones are fixed in writing at the start, and development runs in two-week increments with working software at the end of each. If something threatens a date you hear about it in the increment it happens, not at the deadline.

How is quality checked?

Code review is mandatory, automated tests run in CI on every change, and each milestone is tested against acceptance criteria agreed before development. Performance and accessibility checks are part of that, not a later phase.

Who owns the code, and what happens after launch?

You own the code, the repositories and the infrastructure accounts. At handover you receive documentation, deployment instructions and a walkthrough for your team. From there you can run it yourself or keep us on a maintenance agreement with agreed response times.

Can you take over a project another supplier started?

Yes, starting with an audit of the codebase and infrastructure. You get an honest assessment of what should be kept, refactored or replaced before anyone commits to a plan.

§ 04SupportWhat happens next

After launch

What does a support agreement cover?

Monitoring, dependency and security updates, bug fixes against defined severity levels, cloud and DevOps management, and helpdesk support for your staff or customers. Response times are written into the agreement rather than implied.

Can you support software you did not build?

Yes, after an onboarding audit. We need to understand what we are being asked to keep running before committing to a response time on it.

Do you manage our cloud hosting?

We can, in your accounts or ours. That covers cost management, scaling, backups and disaster-recovery verification. The accounts and domains stay in your company’s name either way.

Still have a question?

Write to us with the specifics. You will get an answer from someone who would work on the project.
