Simulation technology for medical training, combining virtual reality and machine learning to give clinicians a repeatable way to practise procedures.
Read the case study →Creating software for Astarte Medical began with research and planning, to understand the requirements and goals of the project before a single feature was scoped.
Clinical software carries requirements most products never face. Data has to be validated on the way in, every change has to be attributable, and the people using it are clinicians whose attention belongs on the patient rather than the interface. Astarte needed a platform that met all three without becoming unusable.
We started with a thorough research and planning phase: mapping the clinical workflow, the data that moves through it and the constraints around each step. That produced a written specification and an architecture with an audit trail designed in from the start, rather than bolted on to satisfy a later review. Development ran in increments, with the clinical team reviewing working software rather than documents.
Astarte was left with a platform matched to their specific process, a documented data model, and a codebase their own team can extend. Because the audit trail is part of the architecture, adding new data types does not reopen the compliance question every time.
